| Performance Comparison Test |
We are so excited about the performance of Vidomi .403, we just had to share some of our results with you. We aren't saying this was a real scientific test, but it was designed to be a quick, simple, direct comparison.
In most tests we've done between the new and old versions of Vidomi, we found speed increases ranging from 75% to 100%. When we ran the same clip on a dual Pentium 933 using divx 3.11a, Vidomi .403 cropped, aspect ratio corrected (scaled), encoded MP3 audio at 128kbps and encoded the video in 3 minutes and 5 seconds, less than the actual time of the 3 minute 40 second clip!

Encode Parameters set
This speed comparison is designed to test a NULL video encode operation of Film content into DivX™ 4. This test is designed to show the core throughput performance. By testing without scale, crop, and audio we have a simple easy to understand comparison of the various encoders core decode/encode process.
Settings used in all products are:
| · | No Audio decode or encode |
| · | No Scale/Resize |
| · | No Crop |
| · | YUV encode mode used where available. |
| · | SSE IDCT used if option was available. Auto detection used if available. |
DivX™ 4 Parameters were set to:
| · | 1 Pass Quality Based |
| · | Performance/Quality was set to "Slowest" |
| · | No CPU usage limit |
| · | No Deinterlace |
| · | Encoding Quality set to 85% |
| Programs Tested / Comments about Settings |
Vidomi .379
This version was used because it has a working no audio setting. The Divx 4 hacks were disabled for the encode test since DivX™ 4.11 no longer requires the hacks.
Vidomi .403
The encode was done in YV12 encode mode.
Xmpeg 4.2a
The encode was done in YV12 encode mode. Aspect ratio correction was disabled
Flask 0.60 with subtitle fix
Aspect ratio correction was disabled
Mpeg2avi 0.1.5d PX3
The encode was done in YV12 encode mode. Command parameters used were "-a -f0 -q1 -r5 -o8". The windows clock program was used to time this application.
Dvd2Avi 1.76
The Encode was done is YUV 4:2:2 encode mode.
